Kyna exploded out of the chair. |

"Me! What do you mean me?" she sputtered. |

"You are the one the Hungan seeks," Paula replied. "And he is not about to stop. You are both in great danger." |
|
|
|

Kyna turned to Cyrus. "Russ, this is a load of crap. Let's get out of here." |

Unsure now what to think, Cyrus went to Kyna and wrapped his arms around her. "Calm down a minute. I need to hear what this lady has to say. It could be important to us." |

Kyna shrugged out of his embrace. "You can't possibly believe any of this shit." |

|
|

"Kyna, a lot of strange things have been happening. Or have you forgotten about the little Easter egg basket that old man gave you?" |

"I haven't forgotten anything! But I can't believe you of all people would fall for such obvious carnival bullshit." |

Cyrus latched on to one of Kyna's hands, unknowingly squeezing it so tightly that she winced. |

"Sorry." He loosened his grip. "But you have to listen to me! There's more going on here than you realize. I trust Kazie Mabuto and he trusts Paula. Will you please trust me?" |

Kyna tried to pull free but Cyrus held on. When she couldn't get loose, she tried to annihilate him with her eyes. After a few moments, his calm gaze took the heat out of her anger and her shoulders slumped. Then he led her back to the chair and reclaimed his place at the table. |
